A large number of specialist car makers use the Salisbury differential and Jaguar rear suspension set up. We are almost unique in rubber bushing our differential assembly to the chassis to give you a totally vibration and noise free ride. The geometry of our steering is exactly as Jaguar’s designed it - not cobbled up with bits from Morris Minors and MGB. You will be proud to say the Suffolk SS100 drives like a Jaguar - because it is a Jaguar.

It should be said that if you do not like meeting and talking to people you should not buy this car. Park it in the High Street - go to post a letter and you could have people around it when you get back. However the interest is always totally positive and the appreciation is shown by small boys and young ladies too. Considering the design is over 60 years old its amazing how many people know exactly what the car is.

I have learnt to appreciate that there are many factors influencing a decision to build a car at home - possibly on your own. Please be assured it is not daunting and does not require specific engineering skills. You will not need to do any welding or use a lathe. There is virtually no drilling other than attaching brake and fuel lines to the chassis. We encourage customers to visit us so that we can assist their build programmes. I always have a Suffolk SS100 available for customer use and testing.
